Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has been made the highest-paid player at the football club.

The Toffees have rewarded the central midfielder, whose goals kept the club in the Premier League last season.

The 30-year-old has become a leader at the Goodison Park team under manager Sean Dyche.

Per The Mirror, Doucoure will be staying until the end of the 2024-2025 season at the very least.

The ex-Watford star was near certain to leave the Toffees last season when he was out of the side under previous head coach Frank Lampard.

Doucoure is now one of the first names on Dyche's team sheet, along with an example for younger players in the squad.
